Everton are keen on signing Swansea City defender Ashley Williams, according to reports from the Daily Mirror.

Everton face the prospect of losing star man John Stones to Manchester City this summer and as a result, the Toffees are currently in the market to sign a new central defender.

It is understood that Everton are currently pursuing Swansea skipper Williams and the Toffees are ready to splash as much as £10million in order to sign the Welsh international.

The 31-year-old has constantly been linked with other clubs throughout his career but has so far remained loyal to the Swans who he joined from Stockport County in 2008.
