Everton release statement over second bid for Crystal Palace winger Zaha

Everton have denied making a second bid for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

Reports claimed this week that the Toffees had offered 55m, plus James McCarthy and Cenk Tosun, to sign the Ivory Coast international.

But the Merseyside outfit says they moved on from Zaha after their initial bid was rejected.

A club statement read: "Everton Football Club categorically denies that a bid has been submitted to Crystal Palace for Wilfried Zaha that included an increased sum plus Cenk Tosun and James McCarthy.

"Everton and Crystal Palace have a very good relationship.

"A bid was made over the weekend which was turned down. Both clubs agreed that was the end of the matter."
