Everton are stepping up their pursuit of Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford.

Beckford is now a free agent after the remaining one month of his Leeds United contract was cancelled by the club on Friday.

Everton are now ready to wrap up a deal for Beckford this weekend, despite late interest from Aston Villa.
