Everton prospect Sean McAllister backed for big things by former junior coach

Dungannon Swifts youth chief Dixie Robinson has no doubts about Everton prospect Sean McAllister.

Everton beat Celtic to sign McAllister from Northern Irish club Dungannon Swifts last summer.

"You knew Sean always had a chance because he always was a great athlete," Robinson told the Liverpool Echo. "You always knew if he kept working hard he had every opportunity.

"Celtic were interested at the same time as Everton and he spoke to both clubs but decided on Everton."

McAllister has followed in the footsteps of Seamus Coleman by starting his career in Gaelic football before switching codes as a youngster.

"A lot of boys play both sports until the age of 16 or 17 and then make a choice as to which avenue they want to go down. Thankfully Sean chose football!"
