Everton plot sensational move for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa

Everton are eyeing Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

The Mirror says Everton could make a surprise bid to try to bring Spain striker Diego Costa back to the Premier League to bolster their front-line.

Costa, 30, is likely to leave Atletico Madrid this summer having reportedly fallen out with staff at the club.

Atletico were also left unimpressed when the fiery forward was banned for eight matches last season after abusing a referee, and are willing to listen to offers for the player, who scored just once in 14 La Liga appearances during the 2018-2019 campaign.

Everton have so far completed the signings of midfielder Andre Gomes and goalkeeper Jonas Lossl this summer, but their owner Farhad Moshi wants to bring in a big marquee name signing to help grow the marketability of the club.

If Costa can perform even half as effectively as he did during his time at Chelsea he would prove to be a great bit of business for Everton.
