Everton have opened talks to sign Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

The 20-year-old joined Schalke on a short-term loan in January, but they will reject their opportunity to buy at the end of the season.

And theDaily Mail says Everton are now in talks with Barca over a £17.4m deal.

Standing at 6ft 3in, 20-year-old Todibo is considered a raw prospect who could improve under the tutelage of Carlo Ancelotti.

The Toffees have a good relationship with the Catalan giants after buying Andre Gomes, Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina in recent years.
