Everton are eyeing Crewe Alexandra striker Max Clayton.
Clayton is a free agent and has trialled in preseason with Sunderland and Wolves.
The Daily Mail says Everton want to take Clayton on trial with a view to offering the striker a contract if he impresses.
The Nantwich-born striker has been at the club since the age of six and due to being under 24, any club wanting to sign him would have to agree a fee with Crewe, or risk it being decided by a football tribunal.
