Steve Round, Moyes's assistant, watched the £6million-rated Republic of Ireland forward in the 0-0 draw at Leeds.
Newcastle and Celtic are also tracking the 24-year-old, who has scored 26 goals for club and country this season and impressed when Reading beat Everton in the FA Cup.
