Everton assistant coach Luis Boa Morte admits he used to face manager Marco Silva when they were youth players in Portugal.
Boa Morte joined Silva's staff this summer.
He said on the Alan Myers Everton podcast, "We played together when we were 15, 16. We always had a good relationship.
"We've always been friends even when we went different ways. I think he was better when we used to play for the same team!
"He was a tough right-back. Always had tough battles, but that's the way it goes.
"We ended up going to the same club a few years later, working for the same club a few years later. Then opposite ways again.
"Now he gave me a chance to be part of his coaching team, and I'm really happy and pleased."
