Everton assistant coach Davide Ancelotti has discussed how to get the best from James Rodriguez.

The Colombia captain has shone at times this season since his summer arrival from Real Madrid.

Ancelotti told the Liverpool Echo: “I think the main thing with these kind of players, is what you just said: make him feel comfortable, make fit into a system, and to do that he has to know how it works and what he has to do for the team.

"But the first thing is to make this kind of player feel comfortable in the position they play and make them express the talent they have.

"Of course, you can teach them. Of course, you can give them indications about the style of play of the team and what you want from them in different situations so every player can learn until the end of their career.

"But that is not the most important thing, the most important thing – again, I repeat – it's the feeling. He has to be positive and he has to be happy when he goes on the pitch."
