Everton are moving for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma.
The Mirror says Everton are increasingly confident of landing the 23-year-old French stopper on loan from Chelsea for the season.
Boss Marco Silva has made no secret of his determination to bring in defenders ahead of Thursday's 5pm deadline, and is targeting Zouma who spent last season on loan at Stoke.
He has just Phil Jagielka and Michael Keane available, as Mason Holgate has been out injured during pre-season.
Silva has allowed Ashley Williams to move to relegated Stoke — effectively replacing Zouma — on loan and let Ramiro Funes Mori join Spain's Villarreal, leaving him desperate to bring in new faces.
