Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin avoids knee surgery

Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin has avoided fresh knee surgery.

The Mirror says Gbamin's season is over.

But the injury-cursed Everton player at least does not require surgery on the medial ligament injury he picked up in training at the week.

The 25 year old Ivory Coast international travelled to London on Tuesday for a scan on the problem - the latest in a long line of injury problems he has suffered since arriving at Goodison in August 2019, for a fee of £25m.

Specialists confirmed that he does not need to go under the knife, but instead isolate and rest the ligaments for a prolonged period.
