Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin is eager to impress new manager Rafa Benitez in preseason.
Having recovered from a knee injury, Gbamin has spent two weeks in Marbella with a personal trainer recently in order to get him ready for the beginning of the summer schedule.
The Liverpool Echo says Gbamin made two appearances for Marco Silva in August 2019 before a thigh injury struck and required two bouts of surgery.
An Achilles problem, sustained in training last May, meant his third game for the Blues arrived under Carlo Ancelotti.
But the Ivory Coast international will return to Finch Farm with Benitez now in charge.
