Everton midfielder Beni Baningime: Brother convinced me about Wigan

Everton midfielder Beni Baningime has completed a loan move to Wigan Athletic.

He will spend the remainder of 2018-19 with the Championship club.

The 20-year-old Academy graduate played 12 matches for Everton last season after making his debut in a League Cup tie at Chelsea in October 2017.

Baningime said he had always thought about a move to Latics, given that he grew up and still lives in the area with his younger brother, Divin, who is part of Wigan's unbeaten Under 18 team.

He told the Latics website: "I've heard a lot of good things about the club and my brother Divin has always wanted me to come here.

"I've always had thought about coming to Wigan Athletic and I'm really happy to be here.

"I know the area very well because me and Divin grew up here. The DW Stadium is about 10-15 minutes away from my house and I went to high school at St. John Fisher and primary school at St. Jude's, so the area is very familiar to me."
