Everton midfielder Gareth Barry insists he still can cut it at Premier League level.
Barry, 34, has played 39 games this season and his 40th will be against Manchester United at Goodison Park tomorrow.
"You are going to struggle to recover the older you get - that is the main thing my body can tell me," Barry said.
"You can get through games no problem. But if you are playing a game three days later, your body just isn't recovering as fast as when you're in your mid-20s - it's simple.
"I'm sure that if there had been more players fit throughout the busy period we had at Christmas, I may have missed more games and had more rest. But it was not to be.
"I'm confident I can still perform at Everton to a high level, with a good manager that knows me well and now knows my body. If we work together, then there are going to be no problems."
