There have been comparisons drawn with Chelsea recruit Kante but the 26-year-old insists he is at Goodison Park to write his own story.
"In the summer I signed here and I am on my own journey," he told Sky Sports.
"I am very happy to be here, the club have extended a very warm welcome and so have the players.
"I feel pretty good, I am fit, I put a lot of work in during training to be ready for the weekend so it's going very well.
'Things are going very well for the club and for me on and off the pitch.
"Long may it continue."
