Everton have opened talks with Barcelona for Jean-Clair Todibo.

Currently on-loan with Schalke, Todibo can be signed permanently for €25m - a fee S04's board finds too steep.

This has opened the door for rival suitors, which include Everton.

Sport says Everton have made an opening offer of €22m for the young Frenchman.

Barca have welcomed the bid, but insist Everton must go higher for business to be done.
