Everton goalkeeper Jonas Lossl took a paycut to leave the club.
The veteran shot-stopper secured a move to Huddersfield Town on loan for the rest of the season.
He was determined to fight for a place in the Denmark Euro 2020 squad.
And Huddersfield boss Danny Cowley confirmed the wage situation regarding Lossl.
"We have to thank Jonas in that because Jonas has actually taken a bit of a pay cut as well to make it happen, he wanted it to happen that much," Cowley told Examiner Live.
"That's testament to him.
"I'm not sure his wife's too happy, but hey-ho."
