Everton, Liverpool target Butland ready for Premier League step up

Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland says he can handle the step up to the Premier League.

Liverpool and Everton lead the chase, while Southampton, who had a £6million offer rejected in the summer, and West Ham United are also keen, says the Mirror.

Butland insists he is in no hurry to leave, but is adamant the idea of stepping up to face the big boys would not faze him.

"I have got confidence in my ability, I would always back myself," said Butland, speaking at a Diadora signing session at JD Sports in Birmingham's Bull Ring.

"I have been fortunate to play in quite a few big stadiums and I'd like to think I have handled myself very well.

"I don't think the occasion would be a problem. I'd back myself and my ability. I want to be playing at the top level for as long as I can in my career.

"And those summer experiences gave me an idea of what to expect and how I need to be at that level."
