Everton hero Trevor Steven says David Moyes does not deserve the criticism coming his way.
Everton's dumping from the FA Cup by Reading has heaped pressure on Moyes.
Steven told talkSPORT: "Long-term David Moyes is still the right man for the job at Everton.
"The problem is funding and not being able to turn the squad over sufficiently in the last couple of years. He has added to it, but only in bits and pieces.
"The frustration of the club moving grounds as well, that's not quite come to fruition. And now they find themselves in mid-table, out of the cup competitions. Where does the season go from here? It's a tough one for Everton supporters to handle.
"He's just got to get on with it and be professional but it's certainly one of those years that David Moyes would like to write off."
