Everton legend Cahill tribute to Moyes

Everton legend Tim Cahill has paid tribute to David Moyes.

Cahill played for the West Ham manager during his time at Goodison Park.

He told Sky Sports: "David Moyes built an amazing group of players. We had Arteta, Joleon Lescott, Leighton Baines, Seamus Coleman, Tim Howard, Marouane Fellaini, Phil Neville, Louis Saha, Yakubu, Phil Jagielka - the list goes on.

"He picked players from the Championship, and the great thing was that he had a leadership group that he trusted.

"He let us lead the team, and if we couldn't deal with things, then he would obviously carry the can. But he was always a great leader.

"He wasn't someone who would tell you how great you did... he was someone that would tell you what you could do better.

"To finish fourth with Everton in my first season with that early group of players - Alan Stubbs, Duncan Ferguson, David Weir, Lee Carsley - was a massive achievement. You can see even nowadays, with all the millions that are being spent, it doesn't guarantee a top six place."
