Everton leave Sporting CP midfielder Matheus Nunes to Wolves

Wolves are interested in signing Sporting CP midfielder Matheus Nunes.

Wolves are making their move after Everton pulled out of the race following Rafa Benitez's arrival, says A Bola.

Everton were said to be close to signing the Brazilian when Nuno Espirito Santo was the favourite to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison.

However, Benitez's arrival at the club killed the rumours as the new manager is said to have different plans and doesn't seem to be interested in signing Nunes.

Sporting will accept nothing less than €18million (£15million) for the 22-year-old, who made 39 appearances last season.
