Everton launching bid for Celtic fullback Kieran Tierney

Everton are launching a bid for Celtic fullback Kieran Tierney.

The Mirror says Everton are ready to use the cash raised by their clear-out of Goodison dead wood by making a £25m raid on Celtic for Tierney.

The Blues have been quiet in the transfer market so far, with the club determined to reduce a 38 strong first team squad before they consider splashing out on new signings.

Already gone are Wayne Rooney, Ramiro Funes Mori, Joel Robles, Jose Baxter, Conor Grant and David Henan, and the likes of Kevin Mirallas, Morgan Schneiderlin, Yannick Bolasie, Oumar Niasse, Sandro Ramirez and Davy Klaassen could all follow.

The departure of Rooney has cleared - and the £12m sale of Funes Mori - has cleared the way on the wage bill for at least three new signings, with boss Marco Silva hunting for a left back, left sided midfielder and striker.
