Everton hopes for Europe take blow as Jebbison breaks record with Sheffield Utd winner

Everton's chances of qualifying for the Europa League next season took a huge blow after a shock 1-0 loss to bottom-placed Sheffield United.

17-year-old Daniel Jebbison was the match-winner for the Blades.

Jebbison became the youngest ever player to score on their first Premier League start, sliding in from close range to beat Jordan Pickford with seven minutes on the clock.

Aaron Ramsdale produced a spectacular double save to deny Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin and preserve Sheffield United's lead.

A ninth home league defeat of the campaign for Everton means they stay in eighth on the Premier League table with two games remaining.

The result means they missed the chance to draw level on points with West Ham United and Tottenham.
