Former Everton midfielder Lee Carsley is set to take charge of Coventry City.

Coventry meanwhile are set to appoint former Republic of Ireland and Everton midfielder Carsley as caretaker boss until the end of the season.

The 38-year-old has been on the Sky Blues coaching staff for the last two years and looks likely to get the job temporarily ahead of Nigel Adkins, Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott, who are among the favourites for the vacancy.
