Everton goalscorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin played down his ruck with Fabian Delph during defeat at Manchester City.
Calvert-Lewin clashed with Delph after the City midfielder recklessly launched himself at the Blues forward and was lucky to escape with just a yellow from the match official who sent off Phil Jagielka for a similar lunge on the opening day of the season.
Asked by Sky TV: "Did it get a bit nasty towards the end?" Calvert-Lewin replied: "It did yeah. But it's to be expected.
"We're fighting for the result and that's what we've come here to do so it's bound to get a bit physical.
"Obviously me and Fabian shook hands after the game as you do.
"But it's bound to get like that."
