Everton goalkeeper Pickford dismisses Jones Liverpool winner - to his face

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was left non-plussed by Curtis Jones' matchwinner for Liverpool's FA Cup triumph yesterday.

Jones, 18, celebrated a dream first goal for the club when his spectacular shot was enough to defeat derby rivals Everton in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.

But Everton goalkeeper Pickford was less impressed and made his feelings clear in the tunnel after the game.

Former Norwegian footballer turned pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft has revealed that the pair crossed paths outside the dressing rooms at Anfield.

And Fjortoft wrote on Twitter that Pickford joked it was a "great cross" rather than praise Jones for what was a sensational match-winning goal.

The former footballer said: "I was standing in the corridor between the two dressing rooms at Anfield with the matchwinner Curtis Jones. Jordan Pickford just passed and said to Jones: - Great cross! Love that kind of banter."
