Everton given green light to sign River Plate defender Funes Mori

Ramiro Funes Mori will join Everton on deadline day after the Argentinian was given the all-clear for a work permit.

Funes Mori has impressed in four seasons at Argentine giants River Plate, with Roberto Martinez keen on securing the 24-year-old's services for some time.

The centre-half has played just once for his country, and was initially unsuccessful in gaining a European passport.

However, the UK's immigration has granted Mori a work permit on the basis of the "exceptional talent" rule.

Mori will join on a £6million fee, with the Toffees set to unveil their new man sometime this week.
