Everton are now ahead of Swansea City in the race to sign West Ham United's Enner Valencia.

Reports suggest that the Toffees are working on a season-long loan with the view to a permanent deal.

The Swans appeared to have clinched a deal for the Ecuador international but it appears as though Everton have stolen a march.

It is understood that the fee for a permanent deal will be around £14.5million.
