Everton may be facing a situation where they have to undertake a fire sale in January.

The Toffees, per The Mirror, are in dire financial straits with respect to Premier League Financial Fair Play rules.

If the club is not sold to 777 Partners by that stage, big name players like Jordan Pickford or Amadou Onana may have to be sold.

Everton have a deficit of £430 million over a five year period, as per the club's March 2023 records.

If Everton are not able to balance their books one way or another, the Premier League will take action.

Such action can include heavy fines, but it may even result in league position penalties or transfer bans.
