Everton director of football Marcel Brands plans a raid on Manchester United this week.

The Daily Mail says Brands wants a new centre-half signing.

Kurt Zouma, 24, remains their main target and hope to persuade Chelsea to let him go even though they are currently under a transfer ban and couldn't sign a replacement.

Manager Frank Lampard does have David Luiz, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta as options for Zouma's position.

If Chelsea block an approach for the Frenchman, Everton may look across the East Lancs road to Old Trafford where one of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo may be available due to Harry Maguire's £80m arrival.
