Everton defender Keane: Season failure if we miss Euro qualification

Everton defender Michael Keane says missing out on European qualification would represent a season failure.

Keane says that missing out would represent a failure to achieve their goals.

He said: “If you look at the position we got ourselves into and then we've been there most of the season.

“We obviously had one or two bad spells but if we didn't finish in Europe at all I think it would be a disappointing season.

“I think we've shown a lot of promise, a lot of improvement this year. I think you can see that the team is getting better and we are improving as a team.

“But with the season we've had and where we've been all season, I think we should finish in the European places.

“Obviously we've lost games that we shouldn't have and games we wouldn't have been expected to lose so that could be costly but we're trying not to think about that at the minute.

“We've got three games left and it's all to play for."
