Vincent Aboubakar had a bittersweet night for Besiktas last night.
The Cameroonian striker was being watched by scouts from Premier League clubs Everton and Crystal Palace when he scored in the Turkish side's 4-1 Europa League win over Olympiakos at the Vodafone Arena in Istanbul.
25-year-old Aboubakar, on loan from FC Porto, opened the scoring for Besiktas in the 10th minute which would have done his chances with the Toffees and Eagles absolutely no harm.
But Aboubakar was sent off later in the first half for an off-the-ball headbutt, taking some gloss off his goalscoring exploits.
The Daily Mail reports that Everton and Palace were also casting an eye over Besiktas' former Arsenal midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.
For the record, Besiktas advanced to the Europa League quarter-finals with a 5-2 aggregate triumph over the Greek giants.
