Ferdinand Marcal's agent has confirmed that Everton are one of a number of clubs interested in the Brazilian full-back. The 23-year-old Marcal is currently starring for Nacional in Portugal, who he joined in 2011 from lower league side Torreense.
Marcal's British representative, Lee Payne of Full Contact, confirmed to Sky Sports that there was a lot of interest in him.
"We know Everton have watched him, that is true - but Fernando has been playing very well and a number of clubs are following his progress," Payne told Sky Sports.
"As far as we are aware no bids have been made but we know a number of clubs have him on their list and it would not be a shock if someone did push ahead with something this month.
"But Fernando is happy and settled and so if he does not move in January that is no issue at all."
