Everton have cooled reports of a move for free agent Samir Nasri.

The Liverpool Echo says Everton have distanced themselves from reports that they are considering a surprise move for Nasri.

The former Arsenal and Manchester City forward will complete a drugs ban next month and will be free to train with interested clubs again.

Senior Everton officials, however, insist there is absolutely no interest in the 31-year-old.

The forward is serving a ban after receiving an intravenous treatment at an LA clinic in December 2016 when he was playing for Sevilla on loan from City.
