Everton reserves coach Alan Stubbs was delighted with their showing in the Lev Yashin Cup.
An under-21 Everton side has been in Moscow for the tournament, which also featured Bundesliga outfit Freiberg, top Serbian side OFK Beograd and hosts Dynamo Moscow.
The Blues, featuring several 17 and 18-year-olds, lost 1-0 in a tight game against an older Freiberg team but cruised to a 2-0 triumph over Dynamo in their second game.
And Stubbs told evertontv: "I would say our younger players are better than the others we have seen in the tournament. We probably played a similar type of age group in Dynamo, a mix of young and older lads.
"But against Freiberg they were all 20 - that's not why they won the game though, they won the game because we had a couple of chances and did not take them."
