Everton caretaker boss David Unsworth retains hope of keeping job

Everton caretaker boss David Unsworth retains hope of landing the fulltime job.

Unsworth was speaking after their 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace.

He said: “I will be honest.

"If I get the job I'll be delighted, if I don't, I'm sure the owner and the chairman will have made what they feel is the right decision for the club.

“I'm an Everton fan, I work for the club and whoever was to get the honour of the job I'd shake them by the hand and wish them all the best because I would want them to succeed.

“What will be, will be. I've said that from day one. I'm just proud for however this last for, to stand there and lead the club."

“The people who matter at the club know exactly how I feel and that will remain private."
