Everton boss thrilled to land Niasse after lengthy pursuit

Roberto Martinez was delighted with Everton's capture of Oumar Niasse late on deadline day.

The Senegalese striker has joined the Toffees from Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow on a three-and-a-half year deal for a fee of £13.5million which has Martinez in a buoyant mood.

"We're delighted because Oumar is a player we have been following for a long time," he told evertontv.

"He is the right personality and someone who is in a very good moment of his career. He has had a lot of success in Russia and he brings a different quality to what we already have in our squad.

"I'm really pleased to be able to bring in Oumar in this window. We moved a couple of players on and the freshness Oumar Niasse brings is going to be very positive going forward."
