Everton boss Marco Silva has praised local pair Jonjoe Kenny and Tom Davies after their playing return.

Kenny and Davies have impressed despite Everton's recent malaise with the midfielder skippering the Blues against Manchester City and Watford.

“We are talking about players who are 20 and 21 years old and they have to show me not just their quality, but also their desire to play, that ambition to play every game," Silva told evertontv.

“Tom is always this type of player. They are players who love the club.

“The main thing for them is to play in the blue shirt and to always play well and help the team win.

“Tom is a player who loves to play football. He has very, very good quality and is working hard to achieve what he wants in his career.

“I am here to help him, to develop him as a footballer. He has the quality to do that and will go step by step.

“I have seen him more confident and aggressive in important moments of matches.

“The team need that from him and he is enjoying what he is doing. He is playing at a good level, which is important for him and the team."
