Everton boss Marco Silva plans to hold talks with sports director Marcel Brands over midfield transfer plans for January.
The horror injury suffered by Andre Gomes last weekend has impacted Everton's already depleted options in central midfield to leave them with just three senior players in the position.
Summer signing Jean-Philippe Gbamin is not expected to be fit again until at least January but Silva has warned he will need further time to get up to speed with the Premier League.
“We have to look for our solutions now because we are talking about J-P being back in January but let's see how he will react, how he will come back, he is still a new player in the Premier League so there will be an adaptation," Silva told the Liverpool Echo.
“We are not talking about J-P coming back in January and being ready to play straight away.
“It is possible in the next few weeks that we will sit again to talk about the possibilities as well and what we should do or not. It is not the moment to talk now but, for sure, we will talk about the possibilities and what we should do during January."
