Everton manager Marco Silva is delighted that Tom Davies has signed a new contract with the club.
Davies has only started 10 games in the Premier League this season, but he is only 20 and continues to improve.
And Silva believes the midfielder is a key figure who will have a lot to do in the upcoming years for the club.
He said to reporters of the new Davies contract: "It's really important for everyone to understand he is only 20 years old.
"He's not often been in the starting XI, but it doesn't mean we're not happy with him.
"He's working every day to help the team and he's a very good football player."
"He started some games as a captain which was a fantastic feeling for him.
"I took that decision with Tom first because of his number of years with our club, and even though he is young, he is a professional."
