Everton boss Silva admits delaying plans for Gbamin surgery

Everton boss Marco Silva admits they're delaying plans for surgery for Jean-Philippe Gbamin.

The summer signing looks set to be out for “at least" eight weeks after sustaining a tendon issue in his right leg.

Gbamin picked up the problem when taking a shot during a training session at Finch Farm last week and the Blues are now taking advice from experts around Europe as to the best course of treatment.

And Everton are unable to dismiss the idea that the £25m man will have to go under the knife to solve the problem.

“Let's see, it is not something we are sure about," Silva told the Liverpool Echo.

“We have two different ways and we will take the final decision in the next few days to be able to start the player's recovery and get him back as fast as we can."
