Everton boss Sam Allardyce defends tactics for Swansea point

Everton boss Sam Allardyce has defended his tactics after frustrating fans for their draw with Swansea City.

Allardyce has guided the Blues away from relegation danger and up to ninth since taking charge in November on a deal until 2019.

Chants of “F*** off Sam Allardyce!" went up from the Liberty Stadium's away end after he replaced winger Yannick Bolasie with defender Ramiro Funes Mori.

But Allardyce responded: “They go with Abraham up front. We have to protect that, so we protect it with a centre-half.

“But then we shove two up front, Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun, so we can play out of those two and we have to have enough people at the back to cope with what they're going to throw at us.

“It's no good us keeping four at the back if they're going to put five up on the frontline because they want to try to go for the win."
