Everton boss Marco Silva admits a lack of preseason is working against his summer signings.

Silva is frustrated as his new arrivals are underdone.

He said, “I repeat, it is dangerous when you don't have everybody ready to do pre-season and some of them lost pre-season as well.

“We already knew about Andre (Gomes) because when we signed him we knew what had happened to him in that moment, it was clear to us as well.

“But I'm happy with the squad, I think we improved the squad, I am happy with our players and now is the moment to close our squad, work really hard like since the first day, enjoy the moments at Finch Farm and improve as a squad, improve our results."
