Everton boss Frank Lampard was delighted with Jonjoe Kenny's performance for victory over Leeds.

The fullback was impressive in a rare start.

Lampard said, "The fans will relate to [the video of his celebration vs Leeds], it is gold. But he is not just a local lad with a big heart. He's a very good player. When you've got lads like that in the group they help with determination and a positive feeling. He dug in against Leeds; hopefully that is a springboard for him. Because we are a new staff and everything is fresh, there is a chance to impress. What better way to do it than the way Jonjoe did last week?"

On the win, Lampard said: "It was a very good performance, we know that and we've analysed that. We've had run of long run of tough results so that is one thing that can give you that little bounce. But of course, we need to keep our heads very settled. It is one result; we've had two wins, one in the cup and one in the league, but there is a lot of work to be done."
