Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti admits he'd have lived to have worked with Barcelona star Leo Messi.

Ancelotti coached Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid and concedes he'd have been keen on the comparison.

"I would have liked to train Leo Messi, if only to compare him with Cristiano Ronaldo," he said.

"I would also have liked to direct Francesco Totti, I started in Rome and I had a lot of affection.

"He was an idol there and I would have liked it."
