Everton boss Ancelotti: Davies can be like Coleman, Baines

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti says Tom Davies can become a club hero.

Davies has just over two years left on the Goodison contract he signed in April 2019 but Ancelotti says talks are yet to begin on a new deal for the midfielder.

But the Blues boss hopes that Davies, 22, can stay at Everton for a long time because his "sense of belonging" to the club can see him replicate the important roles in the squad Baines had and the one Coleman continues to hold.

“We didn't talk about the contract of Tom Davies because he has two years left, but Tom Davies, as a figure in the club, I would like that it will be like Seamus Coleman, like Leighton Baines, this kind of player that grew in the academy," Ancelotti said.

"He has a strong sense of belonging in the team, this is what we see in the future of Tom Davies, to stay here as one of the most important parts of the squad, for his sense of belonging."
