Everton boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed Eliaquim Mangala's season is over.
Allardyce has revealed loan signing Mangala will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his injured knee.
The defender picked up the problem on his Toffees debut after joining from Manchester City, with Allardyce explaining: “His injury is going to be a bit more length-wise than first thought. I think they've reassessed the scans and seen there's a little bit more damage than first expected.
“I think it's highly unlikely we'll see him again this season but City as a football club want us to rehabilitate him so we will do that."
