Manchester City are reportedly the frontrunners to secure the services of Everton forward Ross Barkley.
The Sun is reporting City have leapfrogged crosstown rivals Manchester United into pole position for the 22-year-old England international's signature.
It is understood the Toffees could demand a fee in the ballpark of £50million for Barkley this summer.
Bookmaker Betway have installed City as 9/4 favourites to become Barkley's next club.
"Punters are becoming increasingly confident that Ross Barkley is set to make the move from the blue half of Merseyside to the blue half of Manchester," Betway's Alan Alger said.
"Monday's 3/1 for Barkley to join Manchester City has quickly become Tuesday's 9/4 and we're monitoring the market extremely closely for any further telling bets.
"After an injury scare for midfield lynchpin Yaya Toure last week Manuel Pellegrini will be keen to make sure he's got plenty of cover in that area.
"Especially with his side fighting for trophies on four fronts as we move into the business end of the season."
