Ched Evans admits his full Premiership debut for Manchester City on Sunday came as a shock.

An Achilles injury to Valeri Bojinov in the warm-up gave Evans, 19, a late call up for the 4-2 loss to Aston Villa.

"I only had a three-minute warning but got on with it and did well," he said.

"Working with (City manager) Mark Hughes I have a lot of confidence and that follows on from having a good loan spell at Norwich last season."
